Book Censorship

Finally my first two assignments have been submitted *insert happy dance here*

Now that I have nothing to do (for the moment) I have taken this opportunity to catch up on some internets. Recently I discovered the awesome Youtube channel vblogbrothers. It is about two brothers – John Green, an award-winning author and his brother Hank Green, creator of ecogeek.org. They initially started their video blog in 2007 as a textless communication project for a year. It has since exploded into much more than that. But anyway, one of the videos was about book banning – something of particular importance to us Teacher Librarians. It highlights how the over censorship of materials due to community opinions and beliefs impact the selection process for school libraries. Have a look, but be warned these guys are very addictive and informative and you may end up watching much more than just one video.
